Dr. Duygu Erten is a graduate of Boğaziçi University, Department of Civil Engineering and completed her graduate studies at Rutgers University, New Jersey and worked as a research fellow at Princeton University. During her professional career as an engineer in USA, she worked as an Adjunct Professor at USC, Los Angeles. She has been a practice faculty member at Koç and Sabancı Business Schools between 2006-2010 and currently a part-time professor at Boğaziçi University with concentration on "Sustainable Buildings". She is one of the writers of UNEP's "Green Buildings" 2010 Report and is currently an active member of IAP, LEED International, EU Commission 7th Programme Research and Technical Development Committee. As a licenced professional engineer in USA, she is a professional who holds DGNB, LEED, BREEAM new and existing buildings as well as communities assessor licences and a LEED Faculty licence.

Dr. Erten is the co-founder and Vice-President of Turkish Green Building Council responsible from international relations. She served as the director of "Clinton Climate Initative" in Turkey and also contributed to Turkish Government's policies for green transformation of buildings by serving on Ministry of Construction's "Sustainability and Energy" committee. Her firm TURKECO is a strategic strategy firm on sustainability working on buildings and communities. She has been awarded "World Green Building Council Award" in 2012 for the initiation of Turkish Green Building Council and for her contributions to global sustainability movement by World GBC.
