Engin Ayaz

ATÖLYE İstanbul

Engin Ayaz is a interdisciplinary designer with background in engineering, architecture, sustainability and interaction design. He is a recent graduate from NYU Tisch ITP, focusing on media arts, emerging technologies, public installations and urban informatics. Between 2007 and 2011, Engin worked as a design researcher and sustainability consultant for building and planning projects at Arup. Prior to that, Engin received a BS degree in Structural Engineering and Architectural Design from Stanford University.

Currently, Engin is collaboratively working on establishing ATÖLYE Istanbul, Turkey's first large-scale makerspace with co-working, fabrication, alternative education and incubation services.

Engin's work has been published in Architizer, Creators Project, ArchDaily, XXI, Atlantic Cities, and Make Magazine, among others. He exhibited at Grey Area Arts Foundation, 319 Scholes Gallery and Dumbo Arts Festival. Engin also has teaching experience in Stanford University, California College of Arts and Copenhagen Institute of Interaction Design and received project fellowships from US Environmental Protection Agency and Merage Foundation.
