Ahmet Eyüce was born on January 20, 1947 in İzmir. Eyüce earned his B.Arch (Bachelor of Architecture) degree from METU and M.Arch and Ph.Degree from EU (Ege University), conducting his research at TU Karlsruhe Institute Für Industrielle Bauproduktion. From 1981 he worked as an assistant professor at KAAU-Jeddah/ Saudi Arabia and at the DEU (Dokuz Eylul University) Faculty of Architecture. He joined the Izmir Institute of Technology (IYTE) and became Head of their Department of Architecture in 1995; he was elected as Vice Dean the same year.

During his career, Prof. Eyüce participated in numerous conferences and symposia in the USA, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Tunisia and many European countries. He carried out many projects and his academic works were published in Turkey and abroad. In 1998 he won the ‘National Architecture Award' (as the team leader) with ‘İzmir Akvaryum Project' prepared for İzmir Metropolitan Municipality within the context of an IYTE revolving fund. He was a consultant of the İzmir Metropolitan Municipality (1999-2004). He joined the teaching staff of Bahçeşehir University in 2004 and was elected as Head of Department of Architecture and Vice Dean in 2005 and since February 2006 he had been the Dean of the Faculty of Architecture. He became a member of UNESCO Venice Office Scientific Council in 2012.

After an architecturally spent life, which is full of many projects, architects he educated and sincere friendships, he passed away on August 9th, 2013.
