Simona Della Rocca


Simona Della Rocca is an architect, founding member of bam!bottega di architettura metropolitana, a young Turin-based group of architects. bam! faces various aspect of architectural design, focusing the design approach on the concepts of Community and Place-identity. The combination of this feature, together with the will of pursueing a constant experimentation and a multidisciplinary vision of the architectural project, defines the studio approach.

bam! took part at several international competitions. Among the most recent and significant, He winning result of YAP MAXXI 2013 edition. Their work have been published on various architectural reviews and exhibited in several international istitutions; recently they have been invited to take part in the itinerant exhibition Piccole Utopie, italian architecture of the third millenium:history, research and innovation, promoted by the italian Ministery of Foreign Affairs, which will have its first stage in Shangai.
In 2013 the practice has been selected by NIB (New Italian Blood) among the Top Ten Italian Architects Under 36, and awarded with the second prize.
Among other topics, the practice has been particularly involved in designing public spaces, public facilities (such as cultural and educational) and redevelopment projects of urban areas.

bam!bottega di architettura metropolitana co-founder members (Alberto Bottero, Valeria Bruni, Simona Della Rocca, Fabio Vignolo) graduated at Politecnico di Torino,enriched their academic and professional background thanks to exchanging program and professional experiences abroad.

They carry forward, along with the professional practice, an intensive research on topic related to the dwelling in the contemporary city. Simona Della Rocca is supporting teaching activity at the urban design atelier in the Faculty of Architecture in Turin.
