She graduated from Istanbul Technical University, Faculty of Architecture. She got her Masters Degree from ITU Social Sciences Institute, and PhD from Restoration Division of ITU Life Sciences Institute. In 1984, she started working in ITU Faculty of Architecture, Restoration Department as research assistant.

She is the associate dean of Faculty of Architecture in ITU now.
