When we wake up every morning, would we say that İstanbul is a beautiful city while leaving out the historical peninsula? A city, which challenges you and bears a combination of loneliness and mass interaction. What is left, belonging to us, in this beautiful city? If the thing that attracted us is democratic ugliness of the city, then does it mean that everything is possible? Where are the limits of criticism and interpretation of the possibility in an objective way? Would we develop an optimistic attitude opposing the idea of acclaiming the phrase “Everything is bad” in order to progress through a productive architecture?

While searching for an answer somewhere between today and future, architects have become the actors of an anachronistic and incorrect perception of history or of fictional future. We can see “today” as infinite possibilities of spontaneous experiments. Nostalgia of the past and utopias of future are preventing us to see what's happening today.
